“Find your happy”
Imagine your happy place. Where are you? What are you doing? How does it make you feel? Lots of things make me happy… My husband, my puppy, reading a good book, watching “Friends” (for the 1000 X) drinking a margarita w/chips & salsa. But I’m talking about the place where the world stops and you’re not thinking about a to-do list or responsibilities… or the fact that it’s already February and you have yet to work out?? (eek!! It’s ok… it’s still sweater & leggings weather right???)
Growing up in Texas I was always up for an adventure. I enjoyed camping with my family, hiking with my dad and any outdoor activity with my friends. Obviously there weren’t regular weekends spent skiing the slopes or hiking a trail that takes you up 14000 ft. So moving to Colorado opened up a whole new world for me!!
I have realized I am a mountain climbing, skiing down the slopes, “Patagonia” wearing kind of girl. I cannot get enough of the great outdoors!
Which brings me to my happy place… You guessed it! It is being on the top of a snowy mountain for a day of skiing. I love being at the very top of the mountain looking out at my “sparkly white world”. There is nothing like it for me. You look out and see white! White sparkly, snow covered, trees, trails and mountains… it’s beautiful!
I love the view of what seems like a “never-ending” trail with glistening snow capped mountains surrounding you. I feel like I’m on top of the world and It always takes my breath away EVERY time. I love that very moment before starting down the vast mountain sporting my favorite “outfit” – white snow pants, my bright green jacket, helmet and goggles (getting a new jacket at end of season sale! And I can’t wait… not sure what color?? Help me choose??!!) anyway… back to my happy place – I’m not thinking about my job, my errands, cleaning the house or ANYTHING! My only thought is how truly beautiful this “sparkly white world” is and how lucky I am that I live smack dab in the middle of it! My Happy Place 😃 is definitely being on a mountain top ready to take on a few (green) mostly blue trails… and feeling like I’m the best skier in the world.
So, where is your happy place? What does it look like? How do you feel when you’re there? Why does it make you feel happy?
Please share your happy places in the comments or via Facebook. I’d love to hear your most happy stories 😃
